May I please ask - you said "make my life easier" by not mentioning it - is there a specific reason for this? (e.g. will they ask for documentation?)

To hop on to this question. Assuming I put 'No', similar to OP's question 3, then, when the time comes to fill in form 80, wouldn't there be a discrepancy if I have to declare that my partner is currently working in a nominated occupation? Or do i leave my partner's employment history as NIL.

 

You have to give all details truthfully in the form 80
It’s your prerogative to claim points for your partner’s experience or not in Skillselect

Do you have to be working on your "nominated occupation" at the time? I have the skill assessment but no working atm. I wonder if I can put YES

 

You cannot put yes if you are not working in the nominated occupations as per skill assessment

NB please help me out.
So me and my partner are filling out the EOI application and we're stuck on "Partner's Nominated Occupation"
She's the primary applicant and for my case, I got my degree assessed by Engineer's Australia, as a Mechanical Engineer, however, I'm not working in my field and have no relevant work experience as a mechanical engineer.
What would you suggest we select in this case?

You can put mechanical engineer
Just make sure that you don’t claim or get points for partners skills in the EOI

I presume that you are not claiming points for your partner skills, so the answer will be NO
