Hello everyone

Doing 2xEoI for 189 and 190 (NSW)

My answers looked like this..

1. Partner's date of birth (dd/mm/yyyy) XX/XX/XXXX
2. Does the partner hold a valid passport and is a citizen of one of the following
countries: USA, UK, Canada, Ireland or New Zealand? YES
3. Does the client's partner have a nominated occupation? YES
4. Partner's nominated occupation Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) - 342315
5. Does the client's partner have a suitable skills assessment from the relevant
assessing authority? NO

Is this ok please? I am not sure if I should pick "NO" for question 3. My partner's occupation closely matches the description for 342315 but I don't know if this is an advantage, disadvantage, or unnecessary complication. It automatically gave us only 5 points, because of no skills assessment.

You get no advantage by saying YES in Q3
Just say NO and make your life easier

Thanks NB

May I please ask - you said "make my life easier" by not mentioning it - is there a specific reason for this? (e.g. will they ask for documentation?)

I will remove it now from my EoIs

Thank you.. if I eventually get to Australia in the end, hopefully some time in 2024, I owe you a pint for all the help you have given me 😆🍺

You have to give all details truthfully in the form 80
It’s your prerogative to claim points for your partner’s experience or not in Skillselect
Cheers

You cannot put yes if you are not working in the nominated occupations as per skill assessment

NB please help me out.
So me and my partner are filling out the EOI application and we're stuck on "Partner's Nominated Occupation"
She's the primary applicant and for my case, I got my degree assessed by Engineer's Australia, as a Mechanical Engineer, however, I'm not working in my field and have no relevant work experience as a mechanical engineer.
What would you suggest we select in this case?
Thank you.

You can put mechanical engineer
Just make sure that you don’t claim or get points for partners skills in the EOI
Cheers

Hi NB,
I am stuck on one question while submitting an EOI, Does your partner have an occupation on the skilled list?
So, I will select Yea or No, because my partner is overseas and a registered Nurse there.
I presume that you are not claiming points for your partner skills, so the answer will be NO
Cheers
