A couple of potential "issues" that could be show-stoppers (at least for the time being):

1. France doesn't have a visa based on "family sponsorship" - certainly not like in the US. To get a "family reunification" visa (i.e. to join family living legally in France who don't have French citizenship) you have to be a direct family member, i.e. a member of their household dependent on the French resident. Generally applies only to a minor child, aged parent dependent on the French resident family or potentially maybe a handicapped adult child dependent on the French resident.

2. There isn't really a "sponsorship" route in France - other than getting a job offer from a French employer who can get you a work authorization for the job they are offering you. Basically, the employer has to show that they have tried and failed to find anyone already qualified to work in France to offer the job to.

3. Effective in 2026, they are tightening up quite a few of the immigration rules to require foreigners to prove their level of fluency in the French language (at least for renewal of residence permits). And as it is, it can be very difficult to find a job in France for which you can get work authorization unless you speak decent French and have a fairly high level qualification (not to mention the job itself pays above a certain amount).

Best starting place for doing this sort of research is here:
