Hello All,

My wife and I are U.S. citizens trying purchase travel health insurance to satisfy the requirements of the VLS-TS visa.

After completing the France visa application we were sent a receipt with a checklist of items to bring to the VISA appointment. One item read:

Travel health insurance certificate issued by the insurance company (covering any possible costs for medical repatriation, and emergency and/or hospital treatment, for a minimum amount of €30,000, valid in France for the whole stay. A copy of your American health insurance card is not an acceptable proof of adequate coverage).

We received a quote from Mondial for $704. The quote appears to meet the requirements of the France visa application in the paragraph above but has a 50 euro deductible and does not cover certain pre-existing conditions. I have read conflicting information on this forum and elsewhere regarding possible other requirements such as: no deductible, pre-existing conditions covered, and not a 'Schengen' plan.

We read on this forum that a Mondial plan was accepted. Can anyone tell if their Mondial plan was like ours and accepted? The one we are being offered is called 'Schengen Medical Insurance'.

Thank you in advance.
