You can search the sft database by putting on your criteria - language pair/assermenté/whatever. All sft members are professionals.

I have been there and found them either unresponsive via email or unable to do what I need. Also the search term/criteria is very clunky, and the results flooded with those not offering the depart/arrive combination that I enter. Thanks but I'm really only looking, as I said, for direct references for a specific web based services or individual translators.

 

Just to add, if you want a specific recommendation I can recommend a colleague in Normandy that I have passed clients on to in the past and they have been have been happy with her. But I think you would be safe with any sft member.

We've used this service "Traductions assermentées". I used it a few years ago for the Brexit titre de séjour application, my OH used it last year. I would use them again when I need to. The prices seemed reasonable, the turnround was quick (about a week) - but they warn that turnround is slower over summer; it's worth checking with them if you have time sensitive needs. I sent scanned documents in English, they returned PDF documents in French a few days later followed by the paper versions by post.

I'm not sure if it was helpful but I also provided typed versions of handwritten parts of the documents (eg. my parents' birth certificates from 1915) some of which were barely legible, and some street names and grandparents' occupations are not at all evident (of course I knew them family folklore, but others might not). They may not have used them but I like to think it avoided mistakes and may have speeded things up.

 

Great suggestion. They were very responsive, quick turnaround, and about half what others were charging.
