Speeding Ticket Lost in the Mail

Soooo, we got a speeding ticket (via mail) and our lovely ex-landlord just sent it back, despite our constant emails requesting she notify us when it arrived.

Is there a way to pay online (I feel like I already know the answer to that) OR what should I expect if I go to the prefecture to take care of this?

Thank you for your help!

Thanks Bev, that will be useful for future tickets :)

Seems like we need to go retrieve the fine # from the prefecture? Should I just go into the vehicle area of the prefecture?

I guess that if the speeding ticket came through the mail, it's because you got caught by an automated radar. If so, normally the actual process is to write to the central agency in Rennes to explain your situation and get another copy of the original ticket. I suggest you do so by AR and quickly as you will get a majoration if you do not pay before a certain delay (45 days from the ticket date).
The adress is
M. l'Officier du Ministère Public
Contrôle automatisé
CS 41101
35911 Rennes cedex 9
Then your former landlord might not be responsible if you forgot to register your adress change (you have one month to do so after you moved) and therefore obtain a new Carte Grise.

Hi everyone, I have a small problem similar to this. I have a new car which I took on an options scheme through ford. I have since moved twice from the original address. When I moved the first time I tried to change the carte de gris downloaded the online form and when I filled in the form there was no where to list that I wasn't the owner of the car, I am listed as a locataire.
My problem is I was apparently flashed in January. I have sent the details off for changing to my new address, this time I received a form from the owners of the car (ford/finance) to send o say I am the locataire and that I have changed address. Yesterday I received a letter from a hussier saying we haven't paid and know have to pay 230 euros. I don't have a problem paying the fine but is there anywhere can contact to explain that I never received a letter with fine and hopefully manage to pay just the 80 euros instead of 230?
Thanks in advance if anyone can help

In short: no. They consider that as long as they sent the letter to you, then you should have received it. You can try 2 things: pay and try to explain to the authorities or pay and go after Ford that supposedly didn't transmit the first letter as they should have. Anyway, you pay first and try to get the money back afterwards, otherwise the things are going to escalate to the point where your car can be seize and/or you have to go before a judge.
Those LLD or LOA schemes are tricky because you are not the owner of the car therefore there is always the step where the papers go through the owner. From what I gather from other websites, it seems that this kind of delay is usual.
