Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 261313 (Software Engineer) of the
ANZSCO Code.
Your qualification has been assessed as follows:
Your Master of Science in Information Technology from Sikkim-Manipal University of Health, Medical
& Technological Sciences completed April 2011 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Master
Degree with a major in computing.

This is what i received in ACS letter

You can claim 15 points for education.

Age: 30
Education: 15
Experience: 10

Total 55, if they have assessed your complete experience. Means If they have not deduced your experience.

With 55 you are eligible for any state, if they have not any minimum IELTS requirement of more than 6. Like 6.5 or 7 for ur occupation.

Hey Guys,

I am a newbie here to the forum and the entire Aussie immigration thing.

My details-
Targeted visa category - Skilled Independent Immigrant PR (189)
Age:
31
IELTS:
To be taken but plan to get a 7 to get 10 points
Work Experience:
9 yrs in the same field (My occupation is mentioned in the ANZSCO Software Engineer, so would be applying to this category) I have been working in the US for about 3yrs now, will it be advantages
Education:
-Bachelor of commerce (computer application specialisation) completed in 2002. (3 yrs full time).
- Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application - completed in 2004 (1 year fulltime)

What are my options with the new system in place by ACS, will my Bachelors in Commerce be considered as Associate degree and will the Post Graduate Diploma In Computer Application be considered for assessment or by DIAC.

Since my experience is 9 years and with the new work experience reduction what would be my new work experience after the assessment by ACS so will it be just 4 or 5 years??

So with all this will I still be eligible to file for a Skilled Independent Immigration PR if not what are my other options.

Really appreciate any response by expats. Looking forward for responses. Thank you.

Cheers,
AustralianDream

Hi expats,
My husband graduated in 2000 but worked from 1999. Since then, he has worked as an software engineer. At the moment, he has been working for his present company for about more than 8 years ( since 1/2005). Athough before this point, he worked for other companies for nearly 6 years but those companies are no longer available. At that time, he worked in Malay for 2 years but the evidence is only the used passport.. And a social insurance of 1 year. So when he applied his skill assessment, he do not mentioned in the application form. A first, he just thought that it is enough for claiming over 8-year- experience but the rules has changed, :(. Is there a CV that we can write every experience there? But he didnt have the CV. He applied to ACS from April 21 2013, so may we add a CV during the progress? And for the experice being hard to show evidence, what can he does now? Any suggest must be appreaciated. Many thanks.
Many thanks.

there has been cases of rejection discussed in the British expat forum so please take that risk into consideration before you make a decision for which you might have to regret later. The safest bet would be to increase your ielts score and since 7 will be enough in your case better give that a shot.

So people with less than 7 in IELTS are under risk of being rejection?

Hi,

I have total 8.5 years of experience and i worked in 6 companies so far.

Does this have any impact on my ACS?

Please help me whether I can apply for ACS or not?

I have completed B.Tech in 2003 and having 8.5 years of experience on JAVA, but currently i am working in 6th Company.

Does they consider the number of companies also?

Thanks in advance. Your help will be much appreciated.

fair enough. and try for NSW ss as well. NSW has the highest acceptance ratio so far and its the safest bet (i tried myself also).
