I have applied for Indian passport renewal at VFS global Sydney on 03.10.2024. I could see my application hasnt moved yet and when checked for status, its still in payment received and its with CGI for further processing. Could see even a File number isnt created yet. I need to travel India by last week of December. Anyone come across the delay? any ideas to fast track the process.

Applied on 9th Sept in VFS Sydney.
Received Email for Initiation of Police Verification on 16th Dec.

what is your current status showing on the passport website. mine is showing passport is printed and will be delivered shortly but today I got an email for police verification.

This is the status shown: Your passport has been printed and being forwarded to Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch.

dont know for my application they have issued the passport on post police verification or pre police verification

They haven't visited my house for verification. So I guess it maybe pre verification

I just checked - It says print is initiated for me . Not sure what is the next step .

I applied in October 8 and still not received, today Consulate said it has been printed on 18 December so should be here any day..but I dont know and I am flying on 2 January.

My police verification was done and completed on 18 December.
Consulate in Sydney said Passport has been printed on 18 December too and I will get it by this week.
I have not received yet.

sounds like you will get in the next couple of weeks given a lot of public holidays the coming weeks
