Hi Expat Forum,

I have a question about the application process for a long stay visitor visa and titre de séjour (residence permit.)

I have a friend that will be hosting me, there is an existing rental contract. I plan to provide that rental contract in the application. Do you think this will suffice for proof of accommodation? Should I also provide a letter from this person saying they plan to host me?

Yes. After all, it is your friend's contract, not yours.

And a copy of your friend's ID that includes their signature.

I think you'll need an Attestation d'hébergement from your friend to go with your visa application.

I don't think it has to be in French for a visa application made and processed in an English speaking country.
