Submit a FOI application
Cheers
Seems they are still waiting ? During my passport application I received conflicting messages from the officers, I would not be surprised if this is happening with the citizenship.

What does the website say ? received, further assessment, approved? that should give a hint. But yeah, give a call, or write to them...

@NB Thankyou for your response. I have been reading about the FOI application on https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/foi/Pages/how-to-make-a-request.aspx and it clearly states that
"Do not use this form to ask for a progress update about a visa, citizenship or an access request you have already lodged"
"Incorrectly using the access request webform may result in duplicate requests being registered and slower service for everyone"
Saying there are alternative ways like "emailing foi@homeaffairs.gov.au"
What should I follow?
The emails I had received from the department are not reflecting on immi portal, but received only to my correspondence email. I have already written them about this, but haven't heard anything back from them.
I hope that I am accessing the correct website. Else, please advice the correct one.

@ozinozland Thankyou for your response.
Yes, it looks like conflicting emails as they are not showing in my immi portal, but only in my email. Immi status still shows received status.
I had already given them a call soon after receiving those emails, expressed my concern about not reflecting in immi portal. All that they said was to wait and not to worry as long as the processing times are within the mentioned timeframe.

Weird... when I received a question, I responded directly to the "
parramatta.citizenship@homeaffairs.gov.au" not sure where you apploed, but there are centres, if you can find out where you are tied, express your issue. I got feedback in few days.

8 months is a lot

It was a statutory declaration to make a declaration that there are no arrests, charges or convictions of any offinces after arrival in AU. I was wondering if AFP check would have covered this however didn't think much as it was a quick declaration on a CoA form with JP's attestation required.

does anyone know the wait time in Monash?

Thanks
Hey thanksful,

Just following up if you have received your ceremony invite? I'm from Monash city council as well and waiting for my approval for the past 2 months.

Cheers!

See if this helps. I sincerely wish you fall under 73% category.

Thanks AtsB, I had a look at these numbers just now! I'm hoping so and based on the previous threads in this forum monash council holds 100-150 people per ceremony. Monash is currently organizing one ceremony per month and looks like mine might be in the month of June or early July. Fingers crossed and my current passport expires in August 2024, so hopefully everything will be done by then.

Hey, similar timeline with yours:

Date Application LodgedJanuary 13, 2024
Request Received for TestFebruary 22, 2024
Citizenship Interview & TestFebruary 29, 2024

I saw on a Facebook group that most of those who did their test around 13-Feb to 20-Feb have been approved just today. So hopefully we get ours in the next week or so.

Also looks like they go by test date in terms of order of approval (just an observation).

Best of luck!

Hi Everyone,

This is reg. my wife's citizenship application, she has completed her interview/test on 6th Feb however there is no news on approval yet.

Is there anything we could do get more details on why approval is taking so long? She did travel to India for 7 to 8 months after applying due to medical reasons.

Thanks, Man51

You can submit a FOI to gently nudge the department in case the application has slipped between the cracks
There is nothing else you can do
Cheers
