The information you've found is basically correct, but you'd do better to find a French CV site. Google "comment faire un CV" and you should come up with loads of sites - just make sure you use a French one and not a Canadian one.

The issue of including a photo is kind of iffy right now. A few years ago, they tried to change the CV format to eliminate all the elements that employers could use to discriminate against job candidates unfairly. Obviously, the photo, but they also decided that the candidate's name and address could provide information about his or her background. How exactly an employer was supposed to hire someone from a CV that left off the name and address, however, posed a problem.

In the last few years, however, I notice that none of the unsolicited CVs we've received in our company seem to include photos. We're a small company, though, and perhaps our selection of candidates is unusual.

All depends on teh role you apply for
- arts director
- head of finance
- school bus driver

The classical type is anti-chronological (most recent first) in France
No esntences, bullet points is favored
If more than 2 pages: not read, unless you are an expert on butterfly transaminase reduction
Colour paper is almost banned (not for arts director)
Picture not so much in demand except for public / customer facing applicants
