Can someone please let me know whether I can get a working holiday visa for Australia by using a British passport, despite the fact that I have already applied for and used one working holiday visa with my Irish passport.

Your DIAC file ID reference is your DOB/LAST NAME/FIRST NAME, it would flag immediately when you present at the border as the chances of all three being the same are astronomical.

I know of a lot of people who did this a few years back, and a good few years before that with the USA. As with everything, immigration get wise to the tricks and they now know that some Irish people can hold both passports so they now check.

I personally know of one fella who did exactly this, then decided to go for PR... He was flagged by diac and given a 7 year ban from entering Australia, even as a tourist... Hardly worth it.
