Hi Nuthan,

head over to the SkillSelect page and browse the visa options. The different visa subclasses have different requirements, restrictions and lead to different residency status. Some require you to find a company to sponsor (457, ENS), others require you to pass a points test (189) and sometimes find a state (190, 489) or family sponsor (489).

Permanent residency (PR) is very desirable because it gives you most rights in Australia (access to health care, freedom to switch jobs/professions, access to social benefits after a two-year wait period, same school fees as Australians etc.). The 189, 190 and ENS subclasses are PR visas, while the 457 and 489 visas are temporary or provisional visas, where you are very dependent on your employer (457) or must agree to live in rural Australia (489). They are described in more detail on the SkillSelect page.

1. Is that I am suitable to apply for the Visa?
The first thing to do is to find out if you qualify for one of the PR visas. System Analyst is on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL), which means that you may qualify for a 189 or 190 visa. Take a look at the points test page to estimate how many points you get for age, education, language skills etc. Note that there are many applications in the "System Analyst" category and they are issuing a limited amount of invitations per year (= occupation ceiling). Currently, you need at least 65 points to get an invitation to apply, ideally you have even more (Source: 21 October SkillSelect report).

Important: You can get 5 partner points if you apply for a 190 visa but not for a 189 visa, because her occupation is on the CSOL and not the SOL.

2. Is that I can go ahead my myself for the process or is it better to get agency for the same.
Your decision. If you don't have a complicated case (e.g. serious disease or disability, criminal record, previous visa application rejected due to fraud etc.), you can do it on your own if you are willing to put in the hours to research and prepare.

3. How much time it takes to get Visa in Total of all process.
Plan about a year ahead. Processing itself takes about 6-12 months and you need to pass English tests and get your skills assessed before that.

4. As of now I am getting around 5000 Dollar per month salary and is it good to move to Australia in way good career and living than India.
Once again: Your choice! Money should not be the only consideration. If you have considerable savings, it will be much easier. Australia (or rather: Sydney and Melbourne) has high living costs but the income scales with that. If you can bring enough money to get through the first 6 months, in case you don't find a job quickly, that will be a huge security blanket.

5. Is my baby gets the free education if I get the PR ?
Education is not entirely free in Australia. Public schools, yes, private schools or universities, no. Childcare is also pretty expensive but you get a tax rebate for that. In terms of education costs your kid has similar conditions as Australian citizens (Exception: Commonwealth loans etc.). At least you won't have to pay international student fees or school fees such as 457 visa holders in some states.

6. How about the Medical system.
Head over to the Medicare homepage to find out more. It's a co-paying system, where you have to pay part of the costs but it is pretty good. You can take out private insurance to cover additional services such as dental care or ambulance services.

Cheers,
Monika

Hi Harsha,

I checked with one the Agency and they did the analysis.. DBA has only one kind of Visa, However Software Engineer has PR visa availability also and so I am trying to see my Profile matching Software Engineer.

Now I have to do payment to that Agency who will be helping me to make all the documents.

I will let you know once done.
