Hi,
I have just applied for Spouse visa subclass 309. When I do get the visa, will I need a skill assessment in order to work in Australia? Can I get that process started while I wait for the spouse visa? And is this process the same as that needed for Skilled Migration?

I have an engineering degree from India (which is not part of the Washington accord) and 7 years of relevant work experience.

Thanks.

No you wont need your skills assessed. Just apply for jobs! But if you do not get PR straight away there are some jobs that may not be open to you because you have to be PR or citizen to apply.
