Hi all,

This forum is great! This is my first post but ive read various threads on here. Me and my girlfriend are hoping to come to Australia next year on a WHV. I wanted to know if I have any other visa options? I working it IT Desktop / 1st line / 2nd line support. I will have 4 years experience at the time and am 24 years old?

My job doesn't appear to be on the SOL schedule 1, but ICT Customer Support is on schedule 2. If I did find a part time job in Australia on a WHV in IT Support is it possible to then gain sponsership and stay?

Many thanks,

Same boat as you. But I thought WHV are for SINGLETONS??? as in no girlfriend/wife or child can piggyback on your WHV?

According to assessments-visabureau-com/australia/assessment/skilled/default.aspx I have 65 points towards 176 state, and 70 points towards 475 state. But I am unsure as my job isnt on SOL schedule 1, just on SOL schedule 2.

Sorry I meant a WHV each. Thanks

Hi Craig;

Would you mind sharing how you got your 65/70 points?
Did you take the IELTS test?

ok
24 yrs old 25 pts
4 years I.T experience 5 pts
having a PR/Aus citz relative 10 points (i think).

I think ACS recognizes Microsoft certs, but ACS is not the assessing body for our occupation 313112 - the assessing body is TRA, but I don't know if TRA recognizes Microsoft certifications.
