Dear all,

My partner and I would really love to move to Australia, but we are a bit stuck. Neither of our professions obviously appear in the SOL, but I am hoping that perhaps my partner's job may be classed as a Business and Information Professionals 2299-79 or Marketing Specialist 2221-13. Does anyone know the types of professionals that this category may include?

My partner is a Business Development Manager for a London law firm (for the past year), and before this he did a simiar job at Ernst and Young (for 2 years). I was an Event Manager for non profit organisations for about 4 years and for the last 1.5 years have been managing international alumni relations at a London University.

I can't see that my job would fit any category either, but if anyone could advise then that would be brilliant. Alternatively, if anyone could recommend a decent immigration agent who could help it would be most appreciated!

Thanks,
Nicky.

hi

you would be best speaking to an agent they could advise the best route.

we used visa-go and totally recommend them, they have been very efficient and always happy to deal with my panicky queries and questions! lots of people on here have used agents and I think you will find a range of registered agents recommended.

We chose ours after going to an emigrate show - the next one is at Sandown at the beginning of March. If you've never been to one then I would really recommend them. There would be a few agents there who you could meet and take advice from (as well as a whole host of other useful contacts). We spoke to 3 when we went to the Edinburgh show and got quotes from them but we felt one understood us best so we went with him. It's very valuable to meet the people you will be dealing with.

if you go to Sandown prepare for a busy hectic day, take a pad and pen, a packed lunch, leave the kids at home and be prepared for you and your husband to split up and speak to different people and go to differnt seminar sessions then combine you knowledge at the end of the day. Its totally exhausting!

good luck
