Dear Forum Seniors,

I’m planning to apply for ACS assessment soon but I’m in a bit of dilemma on which occupation to choose: 261311 - Analyst Programmer or 261313 - Software Engineer as my job duties relates to both of these occupations.

I just wanted some clarifications on the points below:

1. As 261311 & 261313 belong to the same category - 2613, is there any further division of quotas among these occupations?

For e.g: Let’s say 2613 category has a total of 500 quotas. Out of these 500, 300 quotas are allocated to 261311, 200 quotas are allocated to 261313 and the rest 100 divided among the remaining occupations in 2613 category.
If thats the case, then which occupation has the highest quotas - 261311 or 261313?

OR

2. Is it that the invitation is based on the highest points in the category irrespective of the occupations within the category.

For e.g: 3 different persons with the following points - 65 points (261311 - Analyst Programmer), 60 points (261313 - Software Engineer) & 70 points (261312 - Developer Programmer).
So, person with 70 points (261312 - Developer Programmer) will be invited first.

Please let me know which one of these is correct. Thank you.

All Anzsco codes starting with 2613 are bunched together.
There is no sub quotas within the 2613.
All are equal and higher point wins and if equal points the earlier application wins

Between choosing Anzsco codes, where there is doubt most choose the 261313 as it is more comprehensive
But of course final decision is yours

Cheers

Thanks for the fast response newbienz. Really appreciate it. :)

Btw with 65 points and EOI submission date around mid Sept, around which month can I roughly expect the invitation for 2613? Any guess?

Till date in the new FY since July, not a single 65 pointer has been invited under 2613

Let at least 1 person be invited with 65 points in the coming rounds to start predicting likely dates

At th moment everyone is shooting in th dark

But all said and done it is likely to be a long wait
It would be a good strategy to also apply for 190 parallelly if you are comfortable with the 2 year binding

Hi newbienz,

Does the DOE changes to the date from which your point increases, say due to addition of work experience points? Or the last EOI submission date is considered?

Thanks

Any change in points resets the date of effect to the change date

Cheers
