Hi everyone!

I'm renewing my civil partner visa on January 2016 and will soon book my IELTS test. Which one should I take?

In the British Council Website, the choices are:
  • IELTS Academic
  • IELTS General Training
  • IELTS Life Skills A1
  • IELTS Life Skills B1

I'm assuming I should take the Life Skills A1?

There is also a possibility that I might study for an MSc in the near future. If so, could I choose to take the Academic test and use that for renewing my civil partner visa? Or does it have to be specifically A1?

Thanks!

Bump hoping for a response!

According to IELTS website: "For family of settled persons in the UK: IELTS Life Skills at A1 – Pass is equivalent to IELTS – 4.0 in Speaking and Listening"

So I'm assuming I could just take the normal IELTS and try to get a 7.0, which would be valid for both my partner visa and if I decide to take an MSc in the future?
