Hi guys,

I want to move to france for 3 months or so to learn french. Which city is the best to go to?

What I want is somewhere that has a relatively low cost of living, good nightlife, decent climate, possible a university city too, and generally a cool place.

I'm 25 and want to enjoy myself without spending too much money and want to learn french and meet interesting people.

It will most likely be in the months of august/september to october/november

Oh dear. Montpellier. A low cost of living relative to where?

As Conky said: Montpellier. It's the closest France has to a US-style "university town."

But, it may depend on what you mean by "nightlife" - plays, concerts, restaurants and bars, yes. But if you're looking for a serious "clubbing" scene, you may be disappointed.

I think Rennes fits your criteria except that it can be rainy.

montpellier for me ..great public transport , lively regional centre uni, research centres etc , coast, airport

alliance francaise montpellier for the lessons , can fix accomodation [ look at their website ]

but not until september , too hot in summer
