I need to get official translations of my foreign documents (bank statements, birth certificate etc.) for the Prefecture. Can someone tell me where to get these done in Paris? I have all the originals with me.

Thanks.

You can also just google "traducteur assermenté" along with the language you need. The official translators also verify the authenticity of the documents being translated, so you have to be sure your translator is certified for the country of origin of the documents you have. I.e. a traducteur assermenté for English can be certified for British, American, Canadian, Australian, New Zealand documents. Make sure you contact the correct one.
Cheers,

I just had to get an " emergency" transalation of hubby US birth certificate (that I had to request there) cause the CAF on a whim decided they wanted to see it.. dont you LOVE them :)
They are starting to become my full time job lol
Anyway, we googled, went completely in the dark for the cheapest person we found that was officially certified and that replied quickly to our request.
She turned out to be quite fine and cheap (29 euros for a birth certificate translation with shipping). Since i paid more than triple that last time for our marriage paperwork, I am happy to share her details.
She is not in Paris, but we mailed stuff back and forth (registered sometimes) and worked via email and it all worked well. here her details.

Hi , I know a guy who is officially registered with the French consulate in London. You will scan the documents send to him he will translate stamp and scan and email them to you. You arrange payment online. Obviously if you do not have a bank account in the UK, transfers are expensive. He charges 25 £ per page.
