Where should I live?

I am moving to Dubai in a week or so and will be renting a 2/3 bed apartment. I will be working in the Oud Metha part of Dubai and need somewhere commuteable where it is not too expensive and my family will be safe. Plus preferably nearish to a secondary school.

Can you give me any advice on a good location?
