what's happening Downtown?

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows what is being built downtown and more importantly why? Lots of men have been busy to build stage(s) and a (for my standards) huge airconditioned tent with occasional sound testing over the past week? It seems to be temporary.

Is there a concert planned or something?

Just curious that's all :D

Free concerts will include performances by American jazz musicians Stanley Clarke and Pat Martino, Indian composer Amit Chatterjee, Malian singer Salif Keita, Emirati singer Mansoor Zayed and percussionist Trilok Gurtu and his band from India.

Tickets for each performance vary and will range between Dh150 (regular standing) and Dh995 (Platinum Seated). Performances begin at 7pm. To get yours, go to tickets.virginmegastore.me.

I don't get it! First they say "free concerts" and then they give us the ticket prices?

There are both - free concerts as well as concerts with an admission price. The free ones will be on the Burj steps and the ticketed ones will be at Burj Park
