Hi guys! I'm really new to all this so apologies if this has already been answered. Basically I just want to know what items/belongings people would take with them vs what they'd leave behind. I'd be moving from the UK so in terms of electrical items I'd leave the large appliances but could and should I take things like straighteners & hairdryers? Also in terms of sofas and beds - is it worth paying the container charges or should I just buy when there?? Thanks in advance for your help!

Virtually nothing electrical will work in Canada as the voltage is different. You could buy a voltage converter (not expensive at all) and plug adapters, but is it really worth the hassle for such small items that can be purchased damned near anywhere for very little money?

If you really like your sofa bring it, but you have to consider whether it is worth the cost of having it shipped.

Beds, and also bedding (sheets, etc.), are different sizes here so that can be an issue as well.
