My husband, who is a British citizen, has been made redundant from his job. In the meantime as he seeks employment, can he claim any benefits such as:

1. Jobseeker’s Allowance or Universal Credit
2. Housing Benefit
3. Tax credits and Rebates

Now, keep in mind that he sponsored me on a UK spouse visa in 2014. We have a child together who was born in the UK in 2015. I currently am employed in the UK.

Are there any stipulations to seeking government assistance regarding the information above?

He can claim but he must declare he lives with a spouse who is subject to immigration control with no recourse to public funds. Then it's fine.
