Are people still loosing their jobs?
Are there jobs available?
What is the real state of the construction industry?

......and Is Abu Dhabi getting off lightly???

There was a similar post a week or so ago.
It mainly depends of the business industry you are in. Difficult to generalize. Most of companies that are strong on international market survived and moving forward. Some small ones probably do not exist anymore.

It depends in the industryHowever in general; yes people are still being laid off but on the other hand i can see some more jobs are posted. Almost eveybody is looking for a job(Bad for those who realy need a job, the unemployed ones)...

go other part of the GCC, Qatar or Kuwait for example , its better then here for now ..

The real situation is very very ordinary. The positive news you hear is only so that the stockmarket doesn't take a dive and the investors don't start pulling out even more than they already have.
If you find a contractor/consultant who has been paid significant payments by the government in the last 9 months, I will eat my hat
