My cat Sivka has had an odd bug on her for a while. She only recently got infected with it when arriving to Cyprus. It is brown and much (MUCH) bigger than a flea as it can be very clearly seen (and fleas can't be). So, I'm very concerned because I don't know what to do. I'm going to take her to the vet soon and see what they have to say. I'd appreciate advice beforehand. Have you seen a bug similar in description on your cat or dog? How did you deal with it? I'm also going to give her a flea and tick bath soon, hopefully that will help.

It's on her but it roams freely, it's not attached to her skin.
Ticks can run around for a day or two if it don't find a good space. After a walk our dog have had up to 60 ticks running loose. There is no other dangerous ones here for cats.
We have sand flies but they are only dangerous for dogs and you can hardly see them (noseeum)

It doesn't sound like a tick. Those little swines want to get on with feeding and attach quite quickly.

Why not get it off, take a picture and post it on here for identification?
