Hi Everyone

I just wanted to let you know we arrived here in Sydney on Saturday evening and are having a fantastic time!

The flights were fantastic, even with three children aged just 13, 2 and 3!

Going through customs was absolutely fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a warmer welcome.

We were collected by relatives from the airport, in a rolls royce no less!

Myself and my husband seemed to get over the jet lag quite quickly but our little girls have struggled a bit. A few sleepness nights and lack of appetite means they were pretty grumpy. But last night they slept through. Woo hoo!

I had a meeting at my new work this morning, all looks good there and I am looking forward to a new challenge.

I have had trouble finding a school for my 13 year old. As we are staying with relatives and on a temporary Visa no-one seems to have spaces!

I am also looking in to childcare for our girls but I have found the system to be quite different from the UK and need a bit of time to get my head round it.

We are looking to rent in the St George region but our family have insisted we get on our feet first.

Anything you want to know just ask.

Thanks for all of your advice on helping us get here!

Julia x

PS I JUST REALISED I SAID THE WORD FANTASTIC SEVERAL TIMES!!!!!!!! HOW FUNNY :)

wow, awesome, congratulations on making it fine so far.

do keep writing the good words, it pleases the eyes/body/soul/heart hahaha
Hey Julia,

Thanks for the update.

Good to hear you managed the long flight OK with small kiddies! I do feel for parents with pre-school kiddies, it must be a nightmare trying to keep them occupied.

You'll be in a bit of a head spin for a week or so and then all of a sudden things will just click into place.

Keep us posted, and hope you manage to find a school for your 13 yr old.

Warmly Congrats to u julia :) and all my best wishes are with u. Keep posting us with the updates
Hi Julia,

Thanks for taking the time to update us - it's appreciated!

Hope you sort out a school and childcare soon.

Regards,
Karen
Hi Julie,

WOW, that's great news :clap2:. Your post put a smile to my face and I'm glad that it's working out good so far. Fingers x'd your 13yr old gets a school soon as that is also my main worry for my 14yr old as she's started her GCSE's this yr and I'm worried about messing up her education. Has there been much difference to being on the 457 Visa apart from schooling issues. Are you having time out first before you start work or just going to jump right in.

keep us updated
xx Satty:love:

ps: forgot to ask did you manage to get any extra baggage allowance on the 457, if so who did you fly with.
xx
all the best julia!!!! we hope everything turns out to be a cakewalk for u and yr family.
