G'day mates:

First post here. My Aussie wife and I are moving to Fujariah in three or four months. I undertand how to look at all the appliances, electronics , etc to see if they have a range from 120v to 220v (or is it 240v). Most of what we have is only 120v which means having to purchase numerous voltage transformers.

Essential question is this: are most kitchen appliances like cuisinart, blenders, etc. available for purchase in 240v there in the UAE and/or would we have to order them online once we are there.

What about electronics like amplified speakers or high-end audio equipment that are only 120v? Is it safe to use voltage transformers with them.

TIA

Michael

Course it is here. There are malls, malls, malls, malls. Stuff here is expensive. And it is like the stuff that they didnt inspected or stuff that is old model that didnt get sent out to usa/europe, gets sent here. If you are getting a shipping allowance, just send it in the container. If you dont have a shiping allowance, then hopefully you have a built in moving allowance.

Thank you!

I finally found a thread on this subject and now understand what's needed.
