Hi can somebody please tell me is it correct that the sponsor in the UK when applying for visit visa should have an annual income of £18.600, also how likely is it be granted a visit visa if you don't have a job back in your home town. Looking to bring my mother in law to visit us here, she doesn't work and has her own home, husband and children. She has savings too. How likely would it be to grant a visit? Is it even worth applying without applicant having a job?

Looking forward to hearing from you

Thank you

As I've said, there is no stipulation of minimum income for sponsor, but when looking at your recent bank statement, ECO needs to be satisfied you are capable of sponsoring from your disposable income. So if at the end of each month you have close to nil balance or are in overdraft, there is little chance of being approved. As for applicant's means, that too has no figure attached, but any savings/disposable income must be sufficient to cover the part of her travel costs for which they are responsible.
