Hi All,

Hope everyone is well and in the best health.

So I am completing the online application on behalf of my spouse who is the applicant, currently in Pakistan. The account is created on my his email address.

I would like to just quickly go though with you if I have the below sections correct and also I am struggling on some:

Passport and Travel Information: Applicant

Personal Detail and Travel History: Applicant

Family Detail: Spouse/Partner? I'm really confused if this section is for me or my spouse? there is another section for the sponsor details so is this part for the applicant to complete?

Employment: Just to confirm that this section is for me as I am the sponsor who meets the financial requirement so therefore I have to provide details of my employment? right?

Medical Treatment: Applicant

Sponsor Detail: Sponsor

English Language: Applicant

So sorry if my questions are really silly. I'm just very nervous and don't want to make any mistakes.

If anyone could help me with the above I would be soooo so grateful.

Many thanks,
Noreen

No, the employment and family sections also refer to the applicant. The entire application is information about the applicant, except where it explicitly specifies information is needed about the sponsor ("Sponsor's details").

Thank you so much for your reply. Now, I'm just confused on the Employment section, I would have thought this is for me as I meet the financial requirement? Please can you advise on this?

Many many thanks

Thank you very much, I am almost done with it just need a few details from my husband.

However, I have recently noticed that the VAF4A Personal Details form is no longer on the Gov.co.uk website, just the North Korea version. is there any reason for this?

Thank you for your help

The full VAF4A paper form is only for North Korean citizens, but Appendix 2 is still relevant to all applications made outside the UK.

The link above is given to you when you begin creating a new application on visa4uk (immediately after choosing Settlement > Settlement > Husband/Wife). It's easy to miss. You can create a 'dummy' application and then delete it afterward if you want to check for yourself

Hi Clever Octopus, I have just tried this and realised that I had chosen Settlement - Settlement - Marriage. I feel like I have selected the wrong option here. In my case, as the Visa4UK is registered on my husbands email and I will be filling this out, should I pick 'Applying for Myself' or 'Applying for Someone Else'? Do I Pick Husband as the Sub Type? Really sorry, this is getting quite complicated :(

Also, once this is done I will print this and include it with my supporting documents as the Personal detail VAF4A form?

If you could please help me out I would be very grateful.

Settlement > Settlement > Marriage is the option for a Fiance or Proposed Civil Partnership visa. In other words, this is the option to choose if you are planning to get married in the UK and then settle.

As you are already married, you will need to start over and choose Settlement > Settlement > Husband (if you are completing the application on your husband's behalf).

It's more confusing to choose "applying for someone else" because all of the questions still pertain to the applicant. So when it says "you" or "your" it is referring to your husband. He will still have to physically sign the printed application. Personally, I don't think there's any value in applying for someone else.

Yes it will need to be printed, signed by the applicant, and sent in with the rest of the supporting documents
