I don't know if anyone has encountered this issue but I'm a British expat with an american family. I have applied for my wife and stepson to enter the UK due to a job relocation there. My wife got her visa with no issues, but they refused my stepson stating that there was no visa he could apply for. We are a family unit and he relies on us for much of his support. We live in NJ and he cannot earn enough to live here. If anyone has any advice I'd be very grateful because I feel that I have been robbed by the home office! The visa they told me to Originally apply for on 4 occasions cost 3.5k.

Thanks in advance!

How old is he? If he is 18 or over, he can't be included as a dependant and he has to qualify for a visa in his own right, such as Tier 4 student (studying for a degree in UK) or Tier 2 General (very difficult as they prioritise EU workers and others with UK residence).
