Hi Seniors,
Please help me with a couple of questions:
  1. What is the average time in weeks for the case officer to be allocated after lodging subclass 189 application?
  2. Do the applicants have to submit medicals along with the application after EOI invitation? or it should be submitted when CO asks for it?
  3. Do the applicants have to submit 'Police Clearance Certificate' along with the application after EOI invitation? or it should be submitted when CO asks for it?

Thank you.

Hi vjk,

1. According to DIPB a 189 application should get a CO within 10 weeks of lodgement. You can head over to the http://www.expatforum.com/expats/au...lia/140550-awaiting-co-applicants-merged.html thread to check out individual timelines.

2+3. You can choose. If you are not in a hurry, wait until the CO tells you to get them done. If you've lived in a country which has long PCC processing times (e.g. US FBI clearance comes to mind) it might be worthwhile to apply for that now. The date on PCC and medicals (whichever comes earlier) determines the latest visa validation date, so that might be a consideration as well. If you know that you cannot move to Australia before 2015, I'd recommend to wait - otherwise you may have to go there for a quick validation trip before that.

Cheers,
Monika

Thanks, espresso. When the CO asks for these, does he/she also put a timeframe in which these must be submitted?

hi buddy,

yes, he/she mentions the deadlines to submit the list of documents that he/she would like to examine. But, if, within the deadline, you are unable to submit the documents such as medicals and PCC that are beyond your control, (generally this is 28 days from the receipt of email from him to yours), you can upload their receipts, acknowledgement and/or online registration forms, then case officer may extend this deadline to some extent with fair consideration.

regards,
sathiya
