Hi,

Following are the conditions to be eligible for visa application fee waiver for visitor visa subclass 600:

The applicant was impacted by COVID-19 related travel restrictions and may submit this application without paying the Visa Application Charge (VAC) if:

  • They held a subclass 600 (Visitor) visa that:

  • Was granted while they were outside Australia; and
  • Was granted before 21 March 2020; and

  • Expired, or expires, between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2022; and

  • Was a multiple entry visa; or

  • Was a single entry visa that was not used for travel to Australia, and

  • They have not previously been granted or refused a Visitor visa, after not paying the VAC on the basis of being affected by COVID-19 travel restrictions.
Can someone please clarify the conditions I have highlighted in red. Is the condition of "visa that was not used for travel to Australia" applicable for single entry visa only or does it apply to multiple entry visa as well?

Thanks.

Hi ahsan85,

I applied for my mother's visa who had a multiple entry visa and she had travelled once on that visa but still received a fee waiver as it had expired during the period mentioned and was unable to use it due to COVID restrictions. Therefore as I read the conditions of VAC waiver, it seems like if someone held a single entry visa then they would get a waiver only if they didn't use it as it could only be used once to enter Aus. Hope this helps!

Whose visa are you applying for? Will be great if you could provide a timeline of the visa application including the nationality of the applicants.

Cheers!
