Hi everyone!
I'm trying to find out which are the conditions of the 189 visa. I mean, it says permanent residence, but I've read somewhere that it is only valid for 5 years. Any link where I could find this information?
Thanks

It is permanent. Period. After four years you can apply for Australian citizenship.

The visa itself which permits you to leave and reenter is valid for five years but you are allowed to stay permanently even after the visa has expired. If you want to go overseas and return after the five years you'll need to apply for a Resident Return Visa. Or if you meet the requirements you can apply for citizenship.
