Hi all,

I went to Australia with my husband in 2005 on the 136 skilled visa, since then I moved back to the UK and currently going through a divorce. What I would like to learn is whether or not after divorce this visa is still valid to me or not i.e. will my permanent residency order be finished. I have paid into a pension scheme while working out there and can only access it if my visa has either expired ( like a temporary works visa ) or cancelled. I'm hoping it can be cancelled ;)

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not an expert but as you have validated your visa it will be good for 5 years from receiving it. So it should expire sometime in 2010 (you would have been given the date when you got your visa). Even if you divorce, you have PR in your own right so that won't affect you coming back here (again, it would have to be before the visa expires otherwise you will lose your PR and have to start from scratch again).

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will clarify.

Dolly
