Dear Members,

My brother wants to apply for 176 before July 1st but he has not applied for ACS yet but can he still apply for Vic ss? Will applying to Vic SS along with ACS has more weightage or can we apply first for Vic ss (along with all educational/job proof and CV) and later get the ACS.

The reason for applying for Vic SS is because his job is currently in high availability list (SOL of Vic) and before the demand for his job exhaust can we apply for SS?

Please suggest.

Regards,
Skj

Sorry this doesn't answer your question but whenever you apply to VIC, keep in mind to provide a written statement (cover letter) upfront . For more info, you can read the thread on Vic timelines and posts by stormgal.

ACS takes now max 4 weeks and Vic takes 6-8 weeks. So as soon as he applies for ACS he ca apply Vic as well and if they come back say that you have applied for ACS and waiting for result and give the application number.
I am not sure about weightage with and w/o ACS but now as we are running out of time, you bro have to try his luck here by doing this.
If his job code is really under demand there I think w/o ACS also he might get SS subject to +ve ACS

I doubt if VIC does it in 6-8 weeks. One needs to budget in excess of 2 months. Only some people- like storm gal are lucky to get it in 3 weeks.

I was under the impression that while applying for any State Sponsorship approval, one has to provide +ve assessment from ACS, is'nt it true? Can we apply for State Sponsorship while our ACS assessment is still under process?

Atleast for Victoria is it not needed at the time of application but later yes. Check this question in below link.
"Can I lodge my sponsorship application without my skill assessment?"

Hi LIG,
For Vic SS, you can apply without the assessment result. I think Victoria is the only state which allows people to apply without the assessment result.

One can later provide the result when they ask for it. :)
