Hi,

I am an ag graduate and currently working in an agribusiness trading company.
I studied livestock and the company I am working for export meat and sheepskin.

I would like to submit my application for Visa 190, however after consulting a few migration agents, they mentioned that the company I am working for might not suitable to have an "agricultural consultant" as the company is obviously just doing trading.

From Vetassess's information, the description for Agricultural consultant is:

"Agricultural Consultants advise farmers, agricultural businesses, rural industries and
government on the production, processing and distribution of farm products.

Alternative Titles
-Agricultural Adviser
Specialisations
-Agricultural Extension Officer
-Landcare Officer
-Horticultural Consultant*
--Agribusiness Consultant

Would it be possible for me to submit my job description under "Agribusiness consultant"?

As of part of my job is to in contact with the abattoirs as some time the buyers would has specification on meat cut, offals(which usually Aus will just send through to pet food rendering) etc.

I am so lost at this moment as mostly the migration agent has no idea how to do this as well.

If you would be able to provide me some guidance, that would be much appreciated :)

You should listen to the migration agents. They know better. Also, if you insist, there are pre-assessment services from Vetassess. You can utilize them and proceed according to their advice. Your last option is to risk applying, but don't guarantee a successful outcome. Suit yourself.

Hi Hamadeh,
Understand where you are coming from. but the after consulting 6/7 migration agents, some told me to change my job, some say it might work but they are not sure because they never did it before.

So far only one migration agent told me that we can give it a try as she did one with similar background but the applicant able to show more technical skill at his/her work to prove that he/she is entitled to "agricultural consultant".

Mostly the migration agent that I seek not too sure about how to lodge "agricultural consultant", it's not so common for them, so they are not familiar with it. And the description on Vetassess is pretty brief.

I am definitely going to need a migration agent to assist me in the process, it's just to see if someone has a similar background would able to provide some advice.

Cheers.
