Hello,

My husband and I are currently living in Brazil and I am applying for a spouse visa.
I understand we don't necessarily need to prove we are living together, but that it would strenghthen our application.
Would we need to get utility bills sent in our names to the same address officially translated? Considering only the address is relevant, am I right in assuming that only originals would be enough?

Who told you you didn't need proof of living together?

You must provide originals and anything not in English or Welsh must be professionally translated. (Yes, the whole document.)

How long back does one have to prove cohabitation for in case of applications from abroad? the whole length of the marriage or last 1-2 years?

I read in another thread that evidence of living together was only necessary when applying for the renewal of the marriage visa. Is that incorrect?

This has been the subject of debate on these threads for many months. The only way to know for sure now is to check what the official guidance says?
