Hi Friends,
I have a situation with regard to employment letter attestation date and employemnt letter generation date.
I got my current employment letter on 21st of June but I somehow requested the notary to attest it to backdate of 15th June unknowingly because all my other documents were attested on 15th June...just to be in sync
So here do you think that it can be categorised as fraud or just an error.
--> Can I somehow justify it to ACS
--> I have already submitted my ACS assessment on 21st and it is underway ,Case officer is assigned but assessment is not yet started ( as shown in website dashboard)
--> is it better to cancel and re submit with attestation date later than letter creation date.
--> or drop an email to ACS and tell them the situation and try to justify.
--> My document is genuine but just that the dates are falling out of sync
I have no idea whether they will reject it or its a nominal thing or fraud.
Please advise.....

I am currently doing RPL through ACS.

My view is give them as little a possible to be suspicious about. It seems odd to me that a notary would back date something.

I would have the reference re attested for the trouble it will take to do so. I just don't think its worth the risk and possibly undermines the credibility of the notary.

you have one naughty notary who agreed to notarize for a past date

I would say get that re-notarized.....would save you lot of trouble and give you the peace of mind...

From what I understand, has happened is that due to error by the notary as he was not feeling well that day and was under the influence of medications, he has mistakenly put a wrong date on one of your document

As soon as you realised the same, you brought it to the notice of the notary and he apologised for the same and attested the documents again with the correct date

I think it's a genuine error on part of the notary which can happen if a person is ill

Please submit the document with the correct date immediately to ACS and ask them To,replace it with the old

Is it better to get the same old doc corrected with his sign..i mean striking off the old date and put new date ..it will be a sort of proof that it was error which has been rectified
Or
Get new photocopy notarized
Also i was thinking...is it possible on ACS part to think that might be my current employer issued a future dated reference letter in my case 20th june dated letter issued on 15th june and notary signed it on 15th only...if this is possiblity then it should be safe else i need to drop Acs an email requesting to replace the old doc with new...
Any inputs??

I think it would be better to get a new document notarised

If possible also get a letter from the notary confirming that he was ill and hence the error on his part in the wrong dates and you are in no way responsible for the same

Attach these 2 documents with the email
