Hello,

I did my first landing and have validated my visa last year.

I have been issued a new passport by my home country and would like to know if I need to submit form 929 to update my passport details?

I spoke to one agent and as per him there is no need to do this since I have already validated my visa with the first entry, and I just need to carry my old passport with me when visiting Australia.

Any idea please!

the issue is that i can't import my application via IMMI. Whenever i try it says wrong details. Not sure if this is because i have submitted my VISA application through an agent offshore.

Is it required to update passport details or it is not required since i have validated my visa upon the first entry.

You may have validated your IED with your 1st entry

However, whenever you travel to Australia, the airlines will punch in your current passport number to check if you have a valid visa to travel to Australia or not.
As DIBP, do not have your new passport on record, the airlines terminal will show as no visa available
You would then have to also, produce your old passport for verification again.
in my opinion. You should get your new passport number updated in DIBP records.
If you can't access immi account directly, get it done through the agent

Cheers

I've traveled twice from Mumbai to Sydney (via Bangkok) and both times the airlines told me they did not have access to verify our visa details with the Australian Government.

First time was in June 2014 by Jet Airways. Second time was in Dec 2016 by Thai Airways. The second time as a test, I did not even show my visa grant details and they were searching our Passport for a Visa. When I told them it was an electronic visa, they seemed surprised. I gave them our grant details and if I recall correctly, they just entered it in their system and thus took care of their responsibility.

Even the guy at the Mumbai Immigration asked for the grant letter and could not verify our Visa using just our passports.

I dont know what to say.

My comments were based on my personal experience at Bangalore airport and what Airlines have written on their websites regarding Australia visas

Anyways all said and done, in my opinion you are better off having your latest passport updated in the VEVO

I was also really surprised with my experience. I was quite sure that in Dec 2016, they would be able to verify my details. I do agree that it is best to have the latest passport details in VEVO.
