Please be aware that there is a scheduled Network Rail strike planned for the Bank Holiday Monday and regular work day Tuesday next week (May 25 and May 26, 2015).

As a result, there will be limited public rail transport access to the Croydon area from north of the River Thames... the Overground will be on extremely limited service and will only be in operation between Dalston Junction and New Cross/New Cross Gate - i.e. the operational section is nowhere useful to get to Croydon.

Buses and trams will still be in operation, but will likely be fairly busy all day long both days... There will also be some partial closures of the London Underground on both days, as the affected areas piggyback off of the Network Rail service.

You'll want to make sure that you can get to your appointment on time, so you are well advised to plan your route accordingly and expect busier than usual conditions.

For complete details of how the Network Rail strike will affect London Underground, please look here.

Just to add that the threatened strike by two unions has now been called off, so re-check with operators for your journey.
