Hello,

My partner and I are preparing to apply for an unmmaried partner visa. Naturally, I'm very paranoid about the whole thing.

Im a UK citizen and we've been here for 3 years. She is Australian. She started on a student visa and to a tier 5 visa in 2015.

We have been living together for 6 years and have lease agreements etc covering the entire period.

In terms of the chronology of the last two years. We have a lease agreement covering the first month of the 24 month period. Then she did an internship in Switzerland after her Masters for 10 weeks and I stayed here, then we have a new lease agreement from the time she got back and switched to a tier 5 visa.

My question is will the HO refuse us on the basis of the ten weeks apart (i visited and actually paid the rent because the internship was unpaid).

Thanks for your help

No, as it was an unavoidable separation on account of her job. Just provide documental evidence, such as a letter from her employer.
