Hello,

Thank you in advance for answering for my thread.

Me and my boyfriend are 4 years together. We lived separately for last year, because he had to finish his education in US, and I came to study to the UK and got Tier 4. In August he was sponsored Tier 2, and I want to change my Tier 4 status to Tier 2 dependent. Is it possible for me? My concern is that we did not live together last year. We have 3 trips abroad together during last year, and also skype calls and emails proof of relationships.
Before we have proof of living together, and now in the UK we are living in the same apartment.
Do you think I have good chanced to apply for unmarried partner visa for Tier 2?
In requirements it states that we should have lived together for the last 2 years as a married couple.
Thank you again for your answer,

The two year cohabitation rule for an unmarried partner visa is very strict, and seeing as you do not meet that requirement, I'd say your chances are not very good I'm afraid. Perhaps look into another visa category ie. fiance or marriage?
