Uk visa application travel history: US visa denied

1730 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Gee&Jay
I am applyung for a UK short stay visa (tourist visa). In the personal details and travel history. I wrote that I was denied a US visa and the reason why (no strong social / economic ties to my home country). Do I need to provide them a copy of paper that the US embassy provided why I was denied?
Please help
Thank you

You must declare all visa denials, but there is no requirement to send in documentation relating to it.
My family member had a US visa refused once, even though has had two US Visas granted since then. We've always used the words: "Refused a USA visa on DD MM YYYY." and have had no adverse issues with that refusal, having got UK and other visas. We've never needed to mention the REASON for the refusal nor supply any documentation.

On the visitor application form VA1FA you are asked the date, the country AND the reason for the refusal.
Ahhh, my mistake. However:

UK Visit Visa Form [of 2014] only had this question: "Have you been refused a visa for any country including the UK in the last 10 years?" and the answer would be No from us [as it was refused FIFTEEN years ago].

Australia Visit Visa Form [of June 2017] had this question:
"Has the applicant ever had an application for entry or further stay in Australia or any other country refused, or had a visa cancelled? Yes
Give details: Refused a USA visa on DD MM YYYY"

And very recently, on the online FLR (M) the following question:
"Have you ever been refused a visa for any country, including the UK? Yes
Please provide details: Refused a USA visa on DD MM YYYY"
there's no need for you add any documentation for that. just answer the 4 sub questions asked and that's it. good luck
