You all wouldn't believe what happened with me. I called the help centre and the lady and even her senior tells me that there's no such thing as a fiance visa. There is a spousal visa where you come to stay with your spouse in UK and then there is marriage visitor visa where you come to UK and marry and then go back to your country and apply again for a spouse visa. Can someone tell me if I am wrong or they are the call centre woman ? I applied for a settlement to marriage visa also known as fiance visa. Please help me. I applied on may and now the call centre people have made me absolutely shocked with what they said. Please someone help me.

I've always called it fiance visa but I have heard it called as "marriage visa" by border control when coming in through immigration with the visa in my passport at the airport.

What did they say to you? That your application disappeared or they can't find it? They used to give a case number that you could call and ask about your application, did you get that case number in the mail?

Marriage (settlement) visa is the correct name for fiancé(e) visa, where you get married within 6 months of arrival and then apply in-country for leave to remain (as spouse).
Remember the telephone enquiry service is run by a commercial organisation and isn't staffed by Home Office specialists, and they can be and often are wrong.
