Hi ,
I've been with my fiancé for about 9 months and she is Bolivian. We are wanting to apply before the changes to salary requirements for uk nationals wanting to bring in a fiancé are raised to 26k.
It couldn't have happened at a worse time as I only asked her to marry me in December last year!
I have a low income of £12,800 basic after tax and about £14k with commission with working for BT. I did have savings of 4k but these have all but been depleted due to going to Bolivia and back 4 times since August '11. In fact - I am into my overdraft regularly by several hundreds and the bank statements I will submit wont look healthy.
I am going to move back in with my parents with my fiancé and save for a while and will make statements to this effect on the application. We have even forced to make the application thanks to this government decision fairly quickly!
I miss my fiance so much and will be going again at the end of May.
I have 2 questions:
1) What are our chances of being successful if applying within the next few weeks?
2) Also I am aware of most of the documents required - but do me and my fiancé hv to submit official documents to say we have never been married?? I asked at my register office and they told me it would take three weeks to prepare such a document , which leaves us without any time!
