Hello everyone,
I’m James, currently living in the UK, with my young family (two kids - 7 months & 20 months & the missus) we are planning to embark on a journey to relocate to Portugal in the next 2-4 years With this next year focused on travelling the country & looking into the relevant details which is why I am here!
Our goal is to find a place where we can buy land, build a home, and integrate seamlessly into Portuguese life.
We’re particularly interested in Leiria, given its reputed access to international schools and English-speaking amenities, which would be great as we don’t speak Portuguese yet (but plan to learn!).
I’m also keen to learn more about managing remote work for a UK business tech business while living in Portugal, or even exploring opportunities with other UK-speaking businesses globally.
We’d love to hear from anyone who has experience or advice on navigating this transition, especially regarding property, healthcare, taxes, remote work and other essentials.
We’re also keen to connect with other families who have made a similar move or are on the same path. Looking forward to learning from this community!
