We're in the process of applying for our visas and are still working through various issues. One issue is: in the application they ask for that address at which we'll be staying at in the UK. We don't have an address, because we don't have our visas yet. How are we supposed to provide an address when the whole point is we're trying to get to the UK? Am I missing something? :confused2:

They want to know where you will be staying?. If you are going to be staying with family/friends then put their address. If you are going to be staying in a hotel then use the hotels address and show evidence that you will be staying there. So booking confirmation from the hotel would do.

What visa are you applying for? The answer will depend on the type of visa-for example, if you are applying for a spouse or fiance/e visa, the answer would logically be your UKC or settled person's home.

If it's a work visa, your company should be putting you up in temporary quarters and that would be the address.

If it's a student visa, the address would be your student quarters.

If it's a simple visitor visa, hotel or hostel information is the address.

Thanks - but I'm none of the above. I'm Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa - we have no family or friends in the UK. We are completely on our own and establishing a UK version of our ecommerce clothing business that we have here in the US. Our plan is to apply for our visas in May or June using the expedited service, then after approval, with visas in hand, go to the UK and look for a house to rent for our family. We have already opened up a UK bank account through HSBC to hopefully help with the process of renting and showing assets.

So, we're still looking for answers regarding this, or do we simply state that we don't know what address we'll be at? We're a little afraid of this whole process and want to get the application right the first time around.

Luckily one of the mods should be around soon and will be able to pass on his/her knowledge, because LOL, you've exhausted mine. Good luck to you and your partner on your visa application and business venture!

Since you won't know a permanent address yet but clearly will be staying in a hotel or something until you do find some place to live why would you not just list the address of the hotel where you will be staying? You may have to include the confirmation letter from the hotel confirming your reservations.
