Good Morning all,

Yesterday I was reading the conservative manifesto, I came across the part in the immigration section where Mrs May has stated they will raise financial requirements for the spouse visa. She has yet to disclose the amount it will be.

However it sickens me that to reduce immigration they are willing to separate more families.

Any how I just started working last week so I have six months to wait before I can start my husbands paper work. Does anybody have any ideas how much they can raise it to?

I presume our Human Rights - of a right to a family life would come in to play.

Anyway The Independent also wrote an article on the matter.

This has been discussed on another thread (a while ago, when the manifesto was first published).
Nobody knows when and how much the requirement will be increased. Even to keep pace with inflation since 2012, it will be over £20,000.
The current requirement went through all the way to the Supreme Court, and the judges agreed it was lawful.
