Hi All,

I am an Australian National currently living in the UK under a Tier 5. I have been married to my Portuguese wife nearing 5 years. We have been living in the UK for ~ 2 years.

As the Tier 5 is coming up for expiry (Jan-18), we have recently applied for residence cards under EEA Family Permit rules. With this application, I had to submit my original BRP.

I need to travel soon for family reasons.

My question is - can I return to the UK without my BRP and be granted access with working rights? I know I will get access to UK no problem with my Aussie passport. However, without the BRP in possession the Officer at Passport Control will surely have a problem with me not having a BRP proving my right to work.

What are my routes around this problem?!

Thanks!
